Launch

How it works

Everything Owed does, in the order it happens. Each step is a transaction you can open.

What Owed is

Owed is a ledger of who the internet owes money to, built on pump.fun. A coin launched here has its creator fees split in two, on-chain, the moment it is created. Half is owed to the $OWED pool and settled with holders every Friday in USDC. The other half belongs to whoever the deployer names: themselves, or any X account.

That second half is the point. Anyone can launch a coin for a creator they like. The creator signs in with X, proves they own the handle, and takes the fees, either into their own wallet or out to the people holding the coin.

The split

  • 50% to the pool. Written into the coin's pump.fun fee-sharing config as 5000 basis points to EHetz195
  • 50% to the creator. Either the deployer's wallet, or the Owed router that holds it for a named X account until they collect.

pump.fun itself pays both halves every time fees are collected. pump.fun no longer offers a way to revoke a coin's fee-sharing authority, so the deployer keeps the ability to edit the split. Owed re-reads every coin's split from the chain every thirty minutes: a coin that moves its pool share off 50% is delisted immediately and its creator share stops being paid. The pool only ever settles what it has actually received.

Launching a coin

The launch page deploys a standard pump.fun coin from your wallet in two transactions: create the coin, then write the split. If you keep the creator half yourself, it flows to your wallet directly and Owed never touches it. Already launched? The Register tab attaches the split to a coin you deployed, in one transaction.

Every coin gets this line in its description:

Naming an X account

Choose "An X account" at launch and type their handle. The creator half is then pointed at the router and the description gets a second line:

Fees accrue in the router under that handle from the first trade. The coin appears on the handle's IOU and, while nobody has collected it, on the who's owed board. Nothing is paid to anyone until the account collects it. Every X handle has an IOU at owedfun.app/x/handle, whether or not a coin names them yet.

Claiming

  1. Open the coin's page and press Claim, or go to Your coins.
  2. Sign in with X. Owed reads only your id, handle, name, and avatar.
  3. Connect a wallet and sign a short message. This proves you control it and binds it to your X account. No transaction is sent.
  4. Pick a payout mode. Everything already waiting is released under it.

Only the account whose handle is on the coin can claim it. If nobody claims within 90 days of launch, the waiting balance settles to the pool and future fees follow it.

Wallet or holders

  • Keep it. Your half is forwarded from the router to your bound wallet every hour, whenever it is at least 0.005 SOL.
  • Pay my holders. Your half is swapped to USDC on Friday and paid pro-rata to every wallet holding the coin at the snapshot, with a receipt per transfer.

You can switch at any time from Your coins. The switch applies to whatever is waiting and everything after.

The pool

The pool is one public wallet that receives the 50% half from every coin on Owed. It is swept every Friday: the SOL is swapped to USDC and settled pro-rata with $OWED holders. Until $OWED launches, the pool accumulates.

The Friday run

Between settlements the fees are claimed hourly whenever a coin has more than 0.01 SOL waiting. Then every Friday at 11:59 PM ET, one minute before Saturday, in order:

  1. The pool's balance since the last run is swapped to USDC through Jupiter. The price is recorded.
  2. $OWED holders are snapshotted and the USDC is divided by balance.
  3. Each holders-mode KOL coin has its router balance swapped and paid to that coin's holders the same way.
  4. Settlements under 0.25 USDC roll into the wallet's next settlement.

The bonding curve, the pump.fun liquidity pool, the Owed pool, and the router are excluded from every snapshot.

IOUs and receipts

Every settlement has its own page, /r/id, with the amount, the recipient, the coin it was owed for, the date, and the Solana signature. Posting the link anywhere unfurls it into the receipt card. The same goes for a handle's IOU at /x/handle: gross creator fees owed, what was passed on to their holders, what they collected, and what is still owed.

Every transfer Owed sends carries an on-chain memo, so the recipient sees where the money came from in their wallet history without visiting the site: Owed · settled Friday for holding $COIN · owedfun.app on Friday settlements, and the coin and handle on creator-half collections.

After each Friday run and each router pass, @owedfun posts the receipts: a summary of the settlement with its three largest receipts threaded underneath, one post for every creator half collected by an X handle, and one for every uncollected half that settled to the pool.

Clips

Coming next. A third thing a creator half can do besides being collected or passed on to holders: fund clips. A handle that has collected can point their half at a clip budget for the coin; clippers who post about it on X sign in, submit the post, and are settled every Friday from that budget in proportion to verified views. For handles that have not collected, a slice of what they are owed can fund clips whose only job is to tell them. The money they never came for pays people to go and get them.

Until it ships, nothing here changes: every creator half is either collected, passed on, or settles to the pool after 90 days.

$OWED

$OWED is a pump.fun coin launched through Owed like any other, except that both halves of its own creator fees go to the pool. Holding it is the only way to receive vault payouts.

Not launched yet. The contract address will be posted on the homepage and on @owedfun first. Anything earlier is not ours.

Opting out

If a coin uses your name and you want nothing to do with it, sign in with X and choose "This coin uses my name without permission" on its claim page. The coin is hidden from Owed and its creator half settles to the pool. You can also message @owedfun or the Owed Telegram and we will do it for you within 7 days. Hiding never stops the coin trading; that is outside anyone's control.

Risks

  • Settlements come from trading fees. A coin nobody trades owes nothing.
  • The vault and the router are hot wallets operated by Owed. Fees sit in them between claims and payouts. A self launch's creator half never does.
  • The swap to USDC happens at Friday's market price. If SOL falls during the week, the dollar payout falls with it.
  • Owed's scripts are open and have not been audited by anyone independent of the project.
  • Owed is not affiliated with pump.fun or X. None of this is financial advice.
